Tawny Frogmouth

Surprisingly the Tawny Frogmouth is not an owl.  I know! I thought it was too.  That's the beauty of painting, you discover not only the curve of a beak or the shape of an eye, you learn a bit about the subject as well.  Tawny Frogmouths are one of the coolest birds that have adapted to the urban landscape and that you can find one in your own backyard is pretty special.  This multi-media abstract has an industrial, urban feel and you can almost hear the low whoooo of the Tawny's call.
The original painting Tawny Night has found its forever home with a local collector but it is available on a variety of open print items including framed prints.  Both my Redbubble and Society6 shops have plenty to chose from. Check out the links below to find yours.
